AE Technology is an authorised Acer service centre for Northern Ireland, Republic Of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. We cover all Acer products that are either in or outside of the machines warranty period.
Collection/Shipping
When a job is booked AE Technology will automatically book a courier (either Initial City Link or DHL) for the address details given. If the address details are incorrect or no-one is present at the address given when the courier calls, a "wasted journey" charge will occur after the failed attempt. For this reason please enter the address, should it be a personal or work address, from which someone will be available to give the Acer equipment to the courier. Collection usually happens within 48 working hours, however this may not always be the case. Please note you must get a receipt from the courier if you are based in ROI. Please Note: Your unit will be shipped to AE Technology via courier and the unit is covered by the couriers insurance, not AE Technology's. If your unit is lost during tranist AE Technology will not be held responsible and compensation will come from the couriers insurers. If you do not agree to this contact the service centre and state that you wish to ship the unit to us at your own cost.
Address Changes
If you wish to change your address on the case at anytime when the repair is ongoing please email admin@acerwarranty.co.uk however we will not guarantee any address changes. If your unit is already packaged or the email does not arrive in time for dispatch the address change will not take place. Address changes cannot be done via telephone to protect your equipment while it is in the service centre.
Packaging
As your equipment is being brought to the service centre by courier it is vital that adequate packaging is used. All equipment should be placed inside a box and padded with some form of cushioning. AE Technology and the selected courier will not be held responsible for courier damage if it is believed to have been caused by inadequate packaging. On the outside of the packaging please write your ERM reference number, which will be given to you at the end of step 4.
Return
AE Technology will package your equipment securely and send it back out via courier. AE Technology check the condition it is leaving our warehouse with the condition the equipment was booked in with. We will not be responsible for any damages to the equipment by the courier once it has left the warehouse.
Warranty Cover
AE Technology and Acer will only cover faults that have been caused by failure of hardware, unless you currently hold an Acer Advantage 3 year accidental damage warranty. If the fault is found to have been caused by user error, 3rd party software, software corruption, virus, etc then a £55 (sterling) charge will occur for the inspection and carriage both in and out of the service centre. This charge will also apply if there is no fault found in the unit.
Data Protection
AE Technology will not release any of your information to 3rd party companies. AE Technology may use the information internally for analysing performance, etc. Should you have any concerns about your personal information please telephone +44 (0) 870 803 4915.
Your Data
Please note any data on your system will not be backed up before work is carried out unless you specify this at step 4 of this process. AE Technology may in certain occassions need to reset your machine back to factory default.
